As promised, here's a closer look at the Address Book simplifications and enhancements that you'll find in AOL Desktop version 10.1. (If you haven't downloaded version 10.1 yet, get it here.)
When you open the Address Book from your mailbox or a draft write mail form, you'll notice that the search, edit, and other action buttons are on top. Secondly, double-clicking on a contact will automatically create a new draft write mail form. (Alternatively, double-clicking when an existing draft is open will add that contact to the same existing draft rather than creating a new one. For example, if you're already writing a letter to one friend and you want to add a second friend from your Address Book, double-clicking on your second friend's contact details will automatically add their address to the existing draft.)
Here's a screenshot demonstrating the convenient auto-filtering search box and the new Address Book layout.

This screenshot shows you how to add a new or existing contact to a mailing list. (Are you looking for the "Groups" from AOL 9.0 and 9.1? Don't worry: Mailing Lists are the same thing as Groups!)

Finally, here are three steps demonstrating how to add the entire contacts in a mailing list to a write mail draft.

Do you have an Address Book tip that I haven't covered? Share it here by adding a comment!
Cheers,
Laura

1. Font size on the Mail listing and Address Book:
Is there any way to make it bigger? As a 50+ user, even my reading glasses are having trouble with what seems to be 6 point type. (I have a brand new laptop with a 17 inch screen.) The only changes I have found are on composing outgoing mail messages and AIM messages. Those changes I have already made.

2. Address Book entries:
I have written several emails and entered the address by starting to type the name, then selecting from the drop-down list. This is very convenient. However, as soon as I send the email, I get a window asking if I want to add this name to my Address Book. It is already there!! Am I going to get this every time? It is annoying and slows me down.

3. "...as soon as I send the email, I get a window asking if I want to add this name to my Address Book."
You can disable this confirmation by going to the Mail Settings "Writing & Sending" tab and unchecking the "display a confirmation when mail is sent" box.
I'll also check into what options there are for resizing the fonts in your Address Book and get back to you.
Thanks,
Laura

4. I use my Address Book frequently to look up phone numbers. It was great in 9.1 whe I discovered how to add an Address Book icon to the toolbar for quick access. Is there a way to do that in Desktop?
Being able to read emails from my other screen name is wonderful, but how about being able to access that Address Book? When I read something and want to forward it to someone on my second screen name, the only option I have found is to stop and change screen names through Sign Out before proceeding. (I understand there may be technical reasons why this is required, I just want to know the options.)
Thank you for your assistance!

5. I am currently using AOL Desktop..I belong to a few bcc'd email lists and when they send a link to use to send mail to the entire list, I can only send to people who are not bcc'd(list owners, leaders) I don't know how to change it or if it can be changed..I never had to use the address book before while being a member of a list. I should be able to just click the link and send so that every member gets what I'm sending.

6. I have set up with AOL Desktop 9.0, and have now purchased a new lap top and have loaded AOL Desktop 10.1. How do I copy all my address book and mailing lists, so I can access and work with from any computer? Right now it appears as though I would have to re-enter all the contact information which would take weeks of data entry.
