4. I didn't know there was an AOL 9.5!
Will the new version of AIM be included at the AIM built-in? I really like the new "Status Message" that AIM 6 has, but am upset that AOL 9.1 doesn't offer that feature.
I'm not a fan of tabs (I avoid using IE because of them). I hate having to switch between browsers when instead I can just put the browsers side by side. I'm willing to upgrade to 9.5 if it has the new AIM intergrated though.

6. When browser is in the restore position but streched to maximum screen, then you click remember window size and position, you reopen it and it goes far right. Very annoying. 9.1 never does that.

7. I can't no longer scroll through my inbox using up/down arrow keys after deleting an OPENED email. It sucks!

8. I have downloaded 9.5 successfully and have used it. However, not all emails have been transferred from my 9.0VR. There is a complete blank for 'Saved on my PC' - 'Incoming /Saved Mail'. I understood from the window offering me the download that all emails would be carried over. Thanks Peter. newmanpeter4@aol.com

9. My name is Michael. I am writing about the new AOL 9.5. It seems like a lot of the AOL workers who create the new versions of AOL have forgotten that a lot of computer users have not up graded to Windows XP and maybe some people might not want to up grade to Windows XP. My complaint is that AOL 9.5 is not out for the operating system Windows 2000.
How about coming out with AOL 9.5 for Windows 2000? And When?

10. ***AOL's most popular all-in-one downloadable software, used by more than 28.6 million people on broadband and dial-up connections every day. ****
28.6 people use AOL Client? I thought that AOL subscriptions went down to some 7-8 million! Or 7-8 million is only paying subscription figure? If ~30 million people still use AOL Classic client, it means they like the interface. And shoving web down their throats is a *put your expletive here* disgrace.

11. The worst part of this software is you exit, and try to exit the application it never does. I mean to say that the exit button never works.
If any one has it working just let me know

13. I have too many issues to include here, but here are a few of them:
Since installing AOL 9.5 my computer has slowed down substantially.
1. Screens freeze up; the system locks up; “Window Size and Position” does not work
2. I need to click on write and favorites before the screen comes up
3. folders do not close on “saved on my PC”
4. I continuously receive “not responding messages”
5. Web pages opened up using the AOL browser do not open full screen.
On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the best, my computer runs about 3-4 since upgrading to AOL 9.5. I am going to try and revert back to 9.1 or 9.0 SE

14. Okay, so I booted up my computer and it said I had a problem with my main.idx file and had to reinstall AOL. So I saw the information on AOL Desktop and was lured into trying it. I have had it for not even 12 hours so maybe it is too soon to tell, but I really hate it! I will spare you all the details. I just want to know how do I get back to 9.1 or 9.5 even looks pretty good. I love the carousel and want it back! Anyway, how do I safely get back 9.1 or get 9.5 after having installed AOL Desktop 10.1. I don't want to lose my filing cabinet where I have lots of work-related information or my favorites.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

15. Using Desktop 10.1, which has a lot of the issues mentioned above. My most aggravating issue, along with others, is that the CPU usage goes up to 99% when loading web pages, especially AOL pages. I noticed there are no responses to anyone's comments. Are the suggestions and comments being relayed to the development team? I'm ready to bail back to 9.1. I've been an AOL user for 15 years, and am very frustrated this year.

17. Loading messages takes forever. Sending too is a problem. I need to use "send later" first then send the mails from there. How do I switch back to 9.0 or 9.1? Will my saved mails not be affected?
Thanks

18. People are at each other throats regarding whether the AOL Client Classic interface can be monetized
http://www.businessinsider.com/aol-never-should-have-tried-to-be-yahoo-2009-3
Looks like the Client usage numbers from this post inspired that article. On the other hand, AOL 9.5 was a complete nonevent, so it is hard to tell whether there is any life left in the Classic Client line.

19. the problem isnt really with AOL,its a vista issue.
its to do with the TCP limit that windows insists in installing into its operating systems, its there in XP,but causes far fewer problems.
The symptoms exist due to the new re-written TCP stack in Windows Vista that aims to take full advantage of hardware advances such as gigabit networking. Among the new feature in Windows Vista TCP/IP is Receive Window Auto-Tuning Level for TCP connections. TCP AutoTuning enables TCP window scaling by default and automatically tunes the TCP receive window size for each individual connection based on the bandwidth delay product (BDP) and the rate at which the application reads data from the connection, and no longer need to manually change TcpWindowSize registry key value which applies to all connection. Theoretically, with TCP auto-tuning, network connection throughput in Windows Vista should be improved for best performance and efficiency, without registry tweak or hack. However, this is not always the case, and may cause some Internet related issues and problems.
The workaround or solution to the above problem is to disable the TCP/IP AutoTuning in Windows Vista. Disabling auto tuning of TCP Windows Size should not cause any negative effects, only that TCP Window Size will always at default value without ability to optimization to each connection. Anyway, if there is any side effect after turn off auto tuning, simply re-enable back it.
Check the state or current setting of TCP Auto-Tuning
Open elevated command prompt with administrator’s privileges. (MAKE SURE YOU OPEN WITH ADMINISTRATORS PRIVILEGES OR IT WONT WORK)
Type the following command and press Enter:
netsh interface tcp show global
The system will display the following text on screen, where you can check on the Auto-Tuning setting:
Querying active state…
TCP Global Parameters
———————————————-
Receive-Side Scaling State : enabled
Chimney Offload State : enabled
Receive Window Auto-Tuning Level : normal
Add-On Congestion Control Provider : none
ECN Capability : disabled
RFC 1323 Timestamps : disabled
Disable TCP Auto-Tuning
Open elevated command prompt with administrator’s privileges.
Type the following command and press Enter:
netsh interface tcp set global autotuning=disabled
Enable TCP Auto-Tuning
Open elevated command prompt with administrator’s privileges.
Type the following command and press Enter:
netsh interface tcp set global autotuning=normal
after you have disabled the auto tunning aol will then work perfectly and not stall at the checking password stage.
Hope this helps
